About Heather
Heather received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Master’s degree in Counseling and Guidance from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Since receiving her Master’s degree in 2008 Heather has worked in a variety of settings, including inpatient and partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient treatment and private practice. Recently, Heather started her own private practice in midtown in the historic VFW National Headquarters building. Heather specializes in treating individuals who are suffering from eating disorders, depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, personality disorders, self-harm behaviors, trauma and grief.
Heather utilizes a holistic approach by looking at all important aspects of a person’s life and creating an individualized treatment plan to help each client increase their coping skills and self-care in order to improve quality of life. Heather has been trained in the areas of Cognitive and Dialectical Behavior Therapies, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Modified Maudsley and Internal Family Systems.
